Today we shall discover why many Christians know the Holy Spirit but still fail to grow spiritually. How do you actually receive help from the Holy Spirit to grow spiritually or in any other area of life?

DAY 5 – COORDINATING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
It is beyond reasonable doubt that God is truly powerful; He can do anything, including helping you to grow spiritually. And we discovered yesterday that such a powerful God is the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. However the question remains: if such a Powerful God dwells in me and is supposed to help me become like Jesus, why then does He see me mess up sometimes and He doesn’t help me?
To answer this question we need to understand how the Holy Spirit works: HE IS A HELPER. Jesus told us in John 14:16, “I will pray to the Father and He will send you another Helper that He may abide with you forever.”
Help can never come in uninvited. The Holy Spirit is not an enforcer to take position by force. He watches and waits until you admit that you are weak, and then you invite Him to help and that’s called coordination with the Holy Spirit. Never think that just because the Holy Spirit is constantly with me, He should help me anytime He sees the need. No! He works with your coordination and this explains why so many tongue speaking, spirit professing Christians only know about His power and help but never actually experience it.
Amos 3:3 asks; “Can two walk together unless they agree?” Our invitation to the Holy Spirit in times of weakness and need is the way we come into agreement with Him for us to walk together.
TODAY’S KEY THOUGHT: IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT; EACH MOMENT HE IS NOT INTENTIONALLY INVITED, HE CAN’T HELP US.
Therefore, use this knowledge to always coordinate with the Holy Spirit for spiritual growth by inviting Him as you face life and situations outside the prayer room. Randomly ask Him for help when you feel you’re failing, talk to Him sincerely about your struggles and spiritual frustrations and the diligence in that will produce spiritual growth.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit to help me. Holy Spirit, I’m sorry I always moved with You but sometimes forgot to invite You in my mess. Today, please Holy Spirit, let’s begin afresh, may I always remember that You are ready, willing and able to help me become more like Jesus. I commit to walk with You and I know my life will not be the same, to God’s Glory in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
